Breathe in the Art

Art must be protected, valued, shared. Embracing this vision, AXYHOTELS, through its accommodation facilities in Rome and Milan, wishes to make art live again. To become involved in the excitement of the most popular events occuring in the Ambrosian city, AXYHOTELS InnStyle has decided to commission a series of artwork. Guiding guests during Milan Design Week is the first temporary installation by artist Alessia Dionisi from the Fornace77 arts and crafts laboratory. The exhibit, FRAGILE, responds to the need to allow guests to experience, with their own senses, this contact with art for an immersive experience of pure beauty.

By placing value upon art, AXYHOTELS creates a common thread between its hotels, where art contributes to making each stay unique

The piece entitled FRAGILE reflects the essence and dynamism of Milan’s symbolic event - it was created specifically for the Salone del Mobile. The guest is asked to look around to discover, step by step, the entire work, which finds its maximum expression in the hall on the first floor. Inspired by the Fuorisalone theme "Materia Natura", the installation, mainly composed of little newspaper people, represents a reflection on the link between these two concepts.

The material is the house - synonymous with refuge, a nest, a safe haven, that is embellished with everyday objects, capable of improving our well-being or decorating the environment around us.
Nature is represented by ourselves - paper humans, both fragile and imperfect, are inserted in their own habitat yet crushed by external expectations that often push us to be what we are not. True wealth, expressed by the gold leaf that covers these figures, lies in experience, while life, portrayed by the movement of the sculptures, reminds us of our innate need for freedom.

Born in Rome in 1983, Alessia Dionisi is a multifaceted artist who has explored different fields of art. After studying illustration at officina b5 under the guidance of her mentors Lorenzo Terranera, Fabio Magnasciutti, and Alessandro Ferraro, Alessia transferred her passion to Bassano in Teverina, where in 2015 she founded the Fornace association. In 2017, together with her master glassmaker partner Andrea Micheletti, Alessia opened the Fornace77 laboratory, where she dedicated herself to experimenting with painting and scratching on enameled glass sheets. In 2018 she presented her first collection of 12 paintings that explored the theme of human workings. In 2019, Alessia created the work "Through the Out Door'' for Warmthotel in Rome, an imposing double mural entirely in scratched glass. With the painter and publisher Tommaso Cascella and other local artists, she then opened a series of art galleries. In 2020 Alessia began painting workshops for children and now continues to explore new artistic techniques in her workshop.
